The yellow indicator on your ASUS Z790 Hero motherboard is a common issue, but it can often be turned off through BIOS settings or by adjusting power management options. Check the manufacturer’s documentation or online forums for specific steps related to your model.

It's the HD_LED. You might be able to turn it off in the BIOS if you're really bothered, though I'm not sure where to look. If you can't find it within a short time, using electrical tape could be a quick fix.

Using black tape on it can be effective as intended.

The setting is unclear, but you possess a Z690 hero with an option in BIOS to disable it. This feature controls an HDD activity LED.

The LED signals activity whether the drive is an HDD or SSD since it handles reading and writing. Even on an SSD, it shows activity because that's its intended function. In every test I've done, regardless of drive type, it works consistently—this isn't a specific issue with HDDs. The user can try using tape or applying LET tape to resolve the problem.

Sure, just let me know. I’m here to help you locate that setting in the bios and understand what option you’re looking for.

Confirming this point, though it's important to be aware that jokes can sometimes lead to incorrect information spreading.
