Hi everyone, I'm using an ADATA XPG 3000 with 2x8GB CL16,18,18. I need to add another 16GB of RAM and ADATA says the original model is no longer available. Can I install another brand if the CL speeds match? I've been running my current 3200 MHz RAM without issues. ADATA does support a 3200 MHz model with similar timing to my 3000. Should I try pairing the 3200 with my 3000 at 3200 MHz, or should I stick to one brand? Thanks!

If the latency remains consistent, there’s no concern there. The variation could stem from a different IC and might not run fast enough, but that’s not a problem in this case.

Verify the RAM maker, model line and clock speeds. For instance, if you have Kingston Hynix CJR memory CL18, it works best with Corsair Hynix CJR rather than Kingston using Samsung E-die.

I use the V-Color model 2x8GB at 3600MHz CL18 and the Patriot 2x8GB at 2133MHz CL14 in a 4x8 setup. It works without issues. Setting everything up at 2666MHz CL18 with 1.2v seems necessary, and stability might require some tweaking. Depending on the board, you may not achieve the desired performance across all channels—my ASRock board is A2 B2 for advertised speeds, while the B1 and A1 channels aren't as effective.

This might work with a 200 MHz variation—just tweak the SOC (if using AMD) or the VCIO (if Intel) to 1.1. It’s enjoyable, at least I find it interesting.

Can you pair b-die with a Hynix DJR? I just got another RAM module using b-die, it’s a bit tricky to get rid of the DJR RAM, so I’m checking if that works.

You're testing 16G Dominator at 3200MHz and Team Group T Force at 2666MHz. I'm running at 16GHz with Clock Speed 3200MHz. Ensure the slow RAM module is installed in the recommended slots.
