No xmp option?
No xmp option?
My specs:
Gigabyte H61m-spv2
Patriot viper 1866 cl 10 series 2x4gb
core i5 2320
I've been trying to manually overclock my ram since there is no xmp profile option, my bios is the latest available on gigabyte's site, and when I try changing the frequency multiplier I only have the option of 13.33, 10.66, 8 or auto. Help plz :/
Yes, the documentation mentions support for DDR3 2200(OC)/1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules. However, if you adhere to the advice "Please refer 'Memory Support List' for more details," you'll notice that any module above 1333 will revert to 1333, which suggests the mention of 2200 might be incorrect. Additionally, you can check the MB manual on page 8, where it lists support for DDR3 1333/1066/800 MHz memory modules. I'm concerned that frequencies like 2133 can only be achieved with the Z68 chipset; other chipsets will downgrade them to lower speeds. Btw, I checked some websites...
The H61 MB is limited to a maximum of 1333mhz RAM, as discussed, with choices for 13.33, 10.66, or 8 (800mhz) only; you cannot exceed 1600mhz. Apologies.
Are you sure? It mentions supported OC frequencies up to 2200mhz, but your motherboard is a rev 2.0.
