Your setup is valid. You're using an ASRock K4 Fatality X470 with a Vega 56 and planning to upgrade to a GTX 5700 XT in CrossFire mode, which is a common configuration for gaming performance.

The 5700 series cards lack crossfire functionality, though certain titles offer multi-GPU compatibility. Unless your games explicitly mention multi-GPU support, opting for an RTX 2080 might be more advantageous.

They might operate separately? I have OCD, so I probably end up getting two cards to complete the slot.

Where did that RTX 2080 super come from? The idea is to grab a 5700XT and run it straight, or save up for better cards eventually. No rush, dual GPUs are getting tough.

It will operate smoothly without a crossfire mode, enhancing the upper thermal conditions, though the second position struggles due to its PCIe 3.0 x4 limitation—this adds extra stress for me when I have it on.

Another comment came in. I’m thinking about getting a newer GPU because I mostly play Apex Legends and a few other older titles, haha.

I understand, I'll start by saving then upgrade the entire platform.

Checked the cost of 2 5700 XTs and searched for a suitable purchase option, which led to the RTX 2080 Super.

Why upgrade then? It seems unnecessary to purchase the latest if you don’t need it. There was no mention of the Dual 5700XT, and most games don’t support dual GPU in 99.9% of cases. A few DX12 titles do work around this. Edited March 22, 2020 by GDRRiley
