I've got a Dell OptiPlex 780 with some upgrades—two 4GB RAM sticks at 1600MHz. After installing them, it just beeped instead of working. Could it be the motherboard's compatibility issue? Also, I added a Core 2 Quad Q9650 and an RTX 3050 Ti. Don't waste time on buying a new PC just because it's old; thanks for your help!

I previously owned an Optiplex 780 SFF PC that was selective about certain memory modules, especially those with matching speeds. This could explain your issue, so you may want to test alternative memory options.

You have 2x4GB RAM at 1600MHz now? Attempt to reset the CMOS. Unplug the PC from the wall, remove the CMOS battery after taking it out, press and hold the power button for a minute or so, then reinsert the battery and power it back on. Restart the system.
