No one is playing Witcher 3 on a 4K monitor right now. I’m not sure how it would look or feel, but you’d need to lower some settings from "ultra to high." The game runs smoothly with G-Sync, though performance might vary depending on the GPU you’re using. It’s been a long time searching for this info.

Yes, it could have been worthwhile despite just one 970.

Get it for me and I’ll explain how it works.

It performs quite smoothly. It doesn’t show such a big slowdown as other titles at 4k resolution. On ultra settings, my 970 maintains roughly 50-60 fps at 1080p, but drops to about 20-30 fps at 4k. I think the lag from my controller and the monitor distance keeps it around 30 fps, though I managed to boost it to near 50 fps with just one unit. You could push it even higher with two 970s.

No worries at all. I don’t own that model, but I can run at 4K on a single R9 290 and it works perfectly. Reducing settings really makes a difference for the higher resolution. 2,970 frames per second should be fine in most games.

Currently playing Witcher, World of Warcraft, GTA 5, and Dragon Age Origins. The person in the IT department laughed when I mentioned it, but I’m not going to let them win. The 600.00 for the Acer 4K looks reasonable.

Playing the game with slightly modified SLI 980s on an Acer 4K G-sync display, using Ultra+ Hairworks settings, achieves around 40 FPS. This is my experience so far. At this frame rate, the combat feels quite fluid. *Personal opinion*
