I assembled my initial PC using components from Walmart at the beginning of the pandemic, and the quality was impressive, so I decided to try the same for my brother. The result was unexpected.

It could be leftover flux that wasn't removed during cleaning after the board went through the reflow oven. Consider using a stronger 70% or higher isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to check for removal.

Well then, Walmart has definitely taken a downturn. My store has been this way for years. It was managed by a Mexican woman who lacked the skills to run such a large operation and ended up making poor decisions, ordering too few items to match customer demand and acting as a weak manager. This isn’t about race—before her, an Asian man was one of the top managers I’ve ever seen, and now a Black man seems to be steering things back in the right direction.

Walmart products are decent if you need fast replacements since they’re inexpensive and widely available, but I wouldn’t depend on them long-term. It’s true what you pay for—Walmart keeps its prices low because the goods themselves are cheap.
