It depends on the timing and availability. If AM5 is still a few months away, waiting might be better. Otherwise, the investment could be justified.

If you want to upgrade to upgrade, do it. If you are happy with what you're getting now, don't. If nothing else, AM5 should drop AM4 prices. At 1440p, your probably holding the 3080ti back, but if you're happy with it, and don't really want to spend money on cpu mobo and ram don't. The way you word it sounds like you don't really want to.

Don't worry about your CPU. Consider upgrading it if you feel it's restricting performance. For a 3600, a 3900X might not be ideal, and sticking to a B450 minimum is recommended for Zen 3.

Are there CPUs available in AM4 or other sockets that satisfy your performance needs?

would prefer to hold off until DDR5 compatible devices arrive, though uncertain about their initial reliability. Currently, the situation is uncertain and the market isn't promising. Between the 3600 and 5600 models, there are some options available, and prices for the 5600 have dropped at times, making it questionable if the extra effort is worth it. It might be wiser to wait for newer upgrades. Another point is that the 5000 series has improved single-core performance, which could boost FPS. However, if you require new RAM, CPU, or a bigger memory, this isn't justified. With newer models, longer lifespan seems likely and future upgrades are hoped for. AMD YES/NO? By the time AM5 arrives, the costs will be significantly elevated.
