most systems aren't completely safe, but applying common sense practices—like avoiding suspicious links, not clicking unknown messages, and running programs cautiously—plus antivirus protection and a basic security plan, brings you quite close to safety. for me, that plan is a linux VM with Firefox that resets to defaults each time it starts, and the VM gets refreshed regularly.

I accidentally opened a suspicious link and scanned my system using Microsoft Defender and Malwarebytes. If I detect a virus, I’ll reset the PC to its original settings. I already use adblockers and avoid torrents or emulation. That’s all I can do now.
