It produces quite a loud beeping noise. The model identification is difficult since the sticker letters are no longer visible.

The beeping pattern signals a problem. It follows a specific rhythm: short beep, short beep, long beep, short beep, and repeats. As @thevictor390 mentioned, if things go completely wrong, you might need an IDE to USB adapter to salvage all the information from the drive.

Avoid using a Windows XP machine linked to the internet. If it isn’t, you’re good to go! (The image suggests no network presence, though the Google page led me to believe otherwise.)
