I've just assembled a new Ryzen 9 setup and face some issues connecting the GPU. Windows works but the monitor isn't recognized. A blank screen appears at startup without a BIOS splash. When I connect my monitor to the IGPU, video displays properly. I've installed the newest Radeon drivers and they also detect the GPU but don't load anything. The card is in PCIE slot 1, which is near the CPU. My motherboard is AsRock X670E PG Lightning, CPU is Ryzen 9 7900X, GPU is Gigabyte RX 6800 XT Gaming OC 16G (quiet mode). I'm new to ASRock and mostly used Gigabyte and Intel before. The BIOS seems sparse on features and didn't show any changes in PCIe mode. I'm hoping someone spots something I missed. I plan to update the BIOS soon to the latest stable version.

The BIOS update was a good decision. Should the fans be spinning while connected to the GPU? Did you replace the VGA power cords?

The update had no effect. The card functions properly. It spins when started and the logo illuminates.

Consider these suggestions in a different sequence:
- Turn off the integrated GPU to observe the outcome
- Install a new GPU driver
- Replace the GPU carefully, paying attention to the extra PCIe power cables
- Attempt to upgrade the GPU firmware with AMDVBFlash

Got it! This was something I was trying to skip because reaching it requires a step ladder at a comfortable height (the machine sits on a shelf above my desk). Fun fact: Gigabyte seems to have stopped updating the firmware for this card.
