I have a Ryzen 5 3400G with 1x8gb DDR4 at 2600mhz on my Chinese motherboard Colorful CVN B450M v14. I’m using a HyperX RAM stick all connected to the board. I don’t have a dedicated graphics card, but I’m hoping it will work once I connect an HDMI cable from my new PC to a YGT 1080p75 monitor. The setup didn’t show anything. I tried another HDMI cable and it still didn’t work. I’ve reseated everything except the fan and the LED glow, and I checked the manufacturer’s site for BIOS updates. It seems the BIOS download is messed up and lacks a clear release date. I’m unsure which BIOS version supports 3rd gen Ryzen CPUs. I’m thinking about getting an HDMI to VGA adapter so I can use the monitor, but I haven’t installed any operating system yet. Updated September 6, 2020 by RuiTachi-
Update the bios for the newest version. It might not function properly at 3400g out of the box. Chrome works well, and you can enable auto-translate for Chinese. The most recent bios are typically listed at the top.
I think the BIOS might not be available. There was another B450 board that wasn't shipped, but 3000 units are ready. It's worth checking if you need a pair of sticks too. Not typical, but it could be a budget model. I'm pretty sure it's the BIOS version. You can reach out to AMD and they might send you a single CPU, possibly an Athlon chip, so you can update the BIOS and return it.
Uncertain about how to proceed as I'm not in the US. Also restricted from going outside due to age rules during the pandemic.
Fascinating. I had no idea AMD was involved in that. It's quite impressive.
