Hello everyone, I understand there have been reports that Valorant could affect your PC due to kernel access. I’m not sure if the developers have resolved the problem or if it remains a concern. Since I’m unsure, I’m wondering if it’s still safe to play.

It was never risky, only the kernel had the power to detect cheats—many others could too, though the Valorant anti-cheat system is more forceful and starts automatically. If it doesn’t launch, you won’t be able to play.

It might not be necessary for a game to always have kernel access, even if its closed. There are also reports of players experiencing major issues across all titles and systems due to Valorant.

I attempted Valorant about a year ago, and I felt something was wrong with the PC. The startup would not be ready on the login screen, even after removing the client. Once I reinstalled Windows, all issues vanished. Fix: Play CSGO on FACEIT

I mentioned it in the tray before there was no major change because it doesn’t act until you launch the game. Having kernel access is a weakness, but other anti-cheat methods behave similarly to antivirus software. It’s not the game itself that needs kernel access—it’s the anti-cheat technology.

They don’t view this as a problem; it seems acceptable legally, and they probably don’t mind how it affects your device. That’s why it isn’t considered a fix.

I attempted to uninstall valorant immediately. I follow the principle of least privilege. I don’t think a cheat engine requires kernel access to work. It does complicate things, but there are still cheats available, giving them more control than they should have. More people should just put this game aside and try other games that are quite similar.
