The retention brackets for the B650E-I motherboard are not compatible with AM4 boards. You’ll need to purchase a new set specifically designed for that model.

I likely misunderstood the details. Will verify. Should match the original: https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articl...ext=Yes%2C the AMD AM5 motherboard,to the new AM5 platform.

Sure, you could just switch to another cooler that doesn't require brackets. Most AIOs and air coolers don't use them.

You can also create the original bracket using a 3D printer if you have access. I printed it for my wife’s computer once. After swapping out the CPU cooler, the printed bracket performed well—printed in PETG.

Regarding the plastic clips, they need to match exactly between the two units. As mentioned, it seems a better option is to purchase one of the many coolers that don’t use them. They work fine for mounting, but for cooling systems attached to the backplate, more suitable solutions exist.

Without understanding the sizes, I wouldn't assume they fit together. Even if they seem similar, mismatched dimensions mean you start over. It's safer to purchase something designed for AM5. ASUS could send one if you can't find it. Edited September 23, 2023 by Godlygamer23

Once I received an AM4 bracket, I could confidently confirm it wouldn’t work. I then ordered a genuine AM5 version and printed one myself for immediate use while waiting. A quick note: I brought the motherboard to a repair shop, and they provided an “original AM5” part, but it still didn’t fit. It looks like ITX boards and non-ITX models have slightly different bracket designs.
