what processor? What board? Full system specs? But there really isn't any way to overclock a locked chip a meaning-full amount.

Using a K series CPU with a Z series board works fine. For non-K CPUs paired with Z boards, adjusting BCLK is the main option. With K/non-K CPUs and B/H series boards, overclocking isn't possible.

an unlocked one on a retail motherboard, yes a locked one on anything, no an unlocked one in a prebuilt (insyde bios is for Dell), you have to try for yourself

Which laptop are you considering? You should focus on boosting cooling and possibly using turbo limits. Could you check the temperature, power consumption, and clock speeds when under load?

Power often reaches around 50 watts during gameplay, also around 70°C, and I'm typically in the range of 1 to 2.80 GHz.
