I recall playing a game called Spartan Total Warrior when I was younger. It had many enemies on screen at once, making it feel like being in the middle of a battlefield. Another title that stood out was Lord of the Rings: Return of the King on Xbox. I remember watching the films with massive battles and large crowds fighting simultaneously—though the game didn’t match that scale, it still gave the impression. - This was more than a decade ago, and I’ve moved to PC recently with a solid machine now. Are there any titles featuring intense battles where you can actively participate? (Whether as humans or other characters.) - Please note: I’m not referring to battle simulators. Those often lack genuine action and can feel like attacking from the air. Also, avoid games in the Japanese Dynasty Warriors style; they’re too easy for your character, making it feel unrealistic and the AI too simple.

I haven't heard of it before, but I'll take a look. Checking the gameplay videos on YouTube now—it seems promising.

A similar concept exists with Red Orchestra for contemporary conflicts. For more historical depth, Project Reality offers threads exploring past eras like WW1 or WW2.

Sekiro, Nioh 1 and 2 will challenge you hard if you get too confident. They don’t match the vibe of massive battles, even though they’re in war-themed worlds. You can still feel powerful and stay strong, but only if you have the right equipment and know how everything works—especially during NG+ sessions. Chivalry 2 might be a better fit since it’s online multiplayer.
