Not exactly what I know, but it’s possible they could outperform the Athlon honestly. The only reason they stay in the market seems to be the Vega 3 APU.

I thought I was aiming too high, but with an i3 priced at $100 for a 4C/8T chip, we could get a regular quad-core Pentium for $80 without turbo boost, clocking around 3.8 to 4.0 MHz. They won’t be overclockable either. The real advantage comes from how much single-thread performance Intel can squeeze out. That’s probably the key to winning this.

Even with a solid single-core speed, the processor struggles under load and faces issues such as the imc, which falls short compared to Intel's performance.

They can push them beyond their limits... Many users set the Athlons to 4ghz even with the default cooler...

Absolutely, though many buyers opt for Athlon alongside mobos with at most four-phase power solutions, which may not always be ideal for performance.
