I upgraded my RAM and found a solid offer on a 16GB 3200MHz unit. My motherboard supports up to 2400MHz, which matches what I have. If I install the 3200MHz sticks, will it drop to 2400 and function properly? The RAM kit I’m using is the YBRC CJ Trident Z RGB 16GB 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz F4 3200C16D16GTZ.
Yeah it will run at 24ppMhz (or more likely 2133Mhz, since that is the DDR4 base Max speed). There is a very slim chance it won't work, so be sure to get the ram from somewhere you can return it.
I find Intel boards confusing. I hope it's just because the CPU is locked, or else I'm struggling to put my words together. Also, does 2400 really represent the maximum?
