Referencing feedback from others about the 3700x at its performance limits, and noting that my 3900x requires significant fan speed to maintain 72°C (with CPU at full load), I’ll focus on the TDP specifications. These ratings come with substantial weight—several metric tons of salt. The 3900x paired with the prism is essentially a waste of effort, pushing up costs and generating unnecessary waste. Thankfully, they moved away from that approach with the 3900xt model.

The 3700X reaches roughly 95W when fully powered. A lower draw of 65W can be achieved by adjusting settings. Zen 2 delivers high efficiency, allowing AMD to match Intel’s performance while using about half the energy.
