I’m checking if the RAM size affects your overclocking efforts. I believe it doesn’t really matter, but I wanted to confirm since I’ve been struggling with stability and most sources focus on speed gains instead of hardware limits. Thanks for your support! EDIT: This note was added because I missed some important details. There seems to be an issue with AMD's memory controller. It might work better with the 3000 series, while older models have trouble handling four sticks.

It really comes down to your motherboard and the way the RAM slots are designed. A daisy chain setup works well for two sticks, while T-configuration layouts can boost performance with four sticks.

It's the silicon lottery. If three sticks have strong chips capable of heavy overclocking while the fourth has weak chips that limit performance, then all four will be capped at the speed of the weakest one.

Under normal conditions, one module per channel of a single rank works best for peak speeds. Using dual-rank modules or two per channel might restrict that performance. Unless you require the absolute fastest RAM (for competitive overclocking), the difference is usually minor. Having multiple ranks per channel can still enhance speed at a given setting. This improvement comes from either more modules or better internal design, not just raw velocity.
