You should choose a CPU that supports PCIe 4.0, as it’s necessary for the upgrade. SSDs can work at PCIe 4.0, but the CPU must also be compatible with that version.

Because the CPU supports only PCIe 3.0, the motherboard's 4.0 lanes won't be used, so performance will match the 3.0 speed. The SSD will also operate at that level.
