I purchased a system three years ago featuring a Ryzen 3600, an MSI B450M A Pro Max, and the 2060 Super. Recently, I acquired an MSI 3060Ti Gaming X trio GPU. I want to know if it’s safe to install this GPU into the B450M motherboard and whether it can run for a sufficient period to accommodate the upcoming Intel 13th generation release.
I completed it successfully with a 3600X. The ASRock B450M-HDV uses 32GB of DDR-3600 RAM (as suggested). It performed well too. The 3060ti was moved into my 5900X, giving the 3600X an OC of 1650, though my games don’t rely on ray tracing so I’m not really noticing any change. Thanks for your response. You're right about the space usage and performance. The 2060 Super does take up a lot of room, and the 3060Ti is powerful but triple-fan. I'm concerned about overheating and power delivery, but if everything works fine, I think I'll keep using the motherboard for a while.
Accepted, I tried a Scythe Mugen 5 S at 3600X, and I also ran the 4000X Corsair. The cooling wasn't great, and the temps stayed under 60°C even when OC and PBO were on.
My setup is ATX, which means it's fine. The 2060S uses a single 8-pin connector, while the MSI Gaming X requires two 8-pin connectors, which my PSU supports. Also, a 650W white unit should work well; most people prefer bronze ratings.
