I examined various build configurations for the 12th, 13th generation, and Ryzen 7000 series. It seems my current setup is quite outdated—I’d probably benefit from upgrading to the 11th generation. I also figured I might get a birthday bonus soon, which could make it worthwhile. My plan was to invest in a 3D printer instead.

They don't offer good value, matching performance to the tenth generation.

It's better to aim for a 5600 or higher, or an AM4 CPU, or a 12th gen chip now. That way you can upgrade later to a more powerful processor.

It wouldn't be considered outdated. The new version represents a significant advancement over the previous one, making it more valuable despite its newer release.

That implies I'll need to replace the B560M and my existing CPU.

Even though it's old, it works for your tasks if it fits your needs.

I considered switching to an Intel B series GPU later, or an A750 might work for my games. Is the 11th generation powerful enough to handle those options?

An 11th gen i3 offers similar performance to a 10th gen i3. The processors provide good value when purchased at a lower price. I’m still using my 8th gen i7, which handles the games I play well, and the difference wouldn’t be significant—so it’s not worth switching until you look at used options.
