Received a fresh motherboard and CPU. Assembled everything outside the case alongside my previous system, uploaded the files, and posted successfully. Felt excited until I removed the new components to install the old IO shield I’d overlooked. Then... nothing happened. I reset the power connectors, shorted the PSU to power it up (it worked initially), but it wouldn’t stay connected afterward. Was this a sign I damaged the motherboard or is there another way to fix it? This whole process was incredibly frustrating after a smooth installation only to have it fail right before finishing.
