It seems uncertain if it's a 64-bit version.

It’s likely a 64-bit system because the specs require an Intel or AMD 64-bit chip. It also allows UEFI startup, something 32-bit Linux distributions often can’t handle.

I prefer not to sound like that person, though the Steam OS FAQ mentions it needs 64-bit hardware. Quick lookup.

It really brightened my day. Appreciate the help, sir. And if you require additional support, yes—it supports 64-bit, and no current operating system should fall short.

SteamOS is essentially a tailored version of Debian Wheezy built for 64-bit systems. Therefore, a chip supporting 64-bit operations is essential.

It wouldn't be very beneficial to rely on a 32-bit system for gaming. Many titles need more than 2 gigabytes of memory. I'm not sure if Linux offers comparable memory restrictions between 32-bit and 64-bit compared to Windows, but I've noticed that a 32-bit OS is generally suggested only for machines with 2 GB or less RAM.
