I've experimented with many solutions and followed the guidance in the "read before posting" discussion. I checked the CMOS battery, attempted to boot from outside the case to exclude a random short circuit, replaced the CPU since the previous one was too small for the intended upgrade to Ryzen 9 and a 10GB GPU. I've tried everything available online about getting the motherboard to function. The RAM in another machine is working properly. I unplugged peripherals, double-checked the wiring repeatedly, but nothing beyond the RGB lighting on the board and the GPU power LED appears. Is this a completely failed motherboard, or could I have overlooked something that might cause it to fail even with a new board?
It's a three-year-old build. I should have noted that. The main change was installing a new PSU after the issue began. I even tried reinstalling the old one, but nothing worked. No simple questions in electronics troubleshooting. The monitor is connected to the GPU, and there’s just one HDMI port available on it.
Did the PSU match the original model? Are you using the exact new cables that came with the replacement unit? Sometimes modular connectors are confused with universal ones, which I've noticed often. If the same make and model were used, would you have applied the new cables correctly? If not, it might point to a motherboard problem, though other factors seem to be at play.
All the new cables are great. That’s much better than the previous CPU problem. I can still secure an AM4 and DDR4 motherboard, which keeps things on track. Thanks! I’ll test a different motherboard tomorrow.
Both the CPU and motherboard are prone to failure, but the motherboard is far more likely to be the issue. This usually happens if you were pushing the CPU to its limits or altering voltage and timing settings.
