Hey there! It sounds like your audio setup is a bit mixed up. The front panel is working fine, but the rear I/O isn’t showing any sound. You might want to try removing all the existing audio drivers and reinstalling the updated ones from ASUS. That should resolve the issue. Let me know if you need more help!

I don't own that exact board, but usually the issue arises when the wrong audio device is chosen as the default. On many systems, three devices appear—standard output, headphone output, and digital out. Ensure the right one is selected in Windows as the default.

I possess just these two gadgets listed besides the AMD models. The speakers are connected through the front panel jack, and the digital output isn't delivering audio (likely via the SPDIF connection).

Usually the speaker section is located on the rear, not the front panel. If your audio program is set up, some connections can be changed. I’d reinstall the drivers and software. It seems this isn’t a replacement board. Have you made any recent updates? Did you switch to a new enclosure?

I saw the same thing too. I reinstalled the new drivers, but it didn’t work. It seems like the issue isn’t with the software itself. I just updated my audio drivers, and then...

Really ASUS? It was set to the first one... But somehow the sound didn't work on my speakers. I switched to the second option, changed the audio output, and it fixed everything.

Hey-O, I know this thread is old but I am having the same problem and believe it might need the same solution. Could you point me to where you found that playback device option? I also have a Asus mobo and my front panel audio works great but rear I/O stopped working as soon as I plugged speakers into the front.

I haven’t used that motherboard anymore, though I can’t recall exactly. It could have been Sonic Studio or Radar.
