Based on what I understand, updates are currently paused due to some issues. This was before all the complications, and I'm now seeking assistance.

It depends on the state of the system. Booting Ubuntu from a USB might play audio if the installation is complete and the sound settings are enabled, but if it's just a recovery or installation process, there could be no sound.

I haven't attempted it before. Would you be okay with waiting? I'm preparing a bootable USB drive for that.

I'll stay quiet until you're ready. I'm going to go to bed in about an hour or two. It shouldn't be that long, but it might depend on your internet speed.

Did you connect the jack to the monitor and hear any sound?

The monitor includes built-in speakers, yet the sole audio connection is a microphone input. Hopefully Asus improved this, otherwise it's impressive as it is.

Sure, your connection speed of 400 Mbps should provide roughly a 15-minute download time.

Starting to think your motherboard might be faulty. There is a way around it, if your USBs work you could get a DAC+Amp combo.

All my USBs are functioning properly, I believe the motherboard is fine and nothing else seems to be causing issues. I’ll try to find a budget USB to 3.5 mm audio adapter. They should be available. No other problems detected so far. Thanks to everyone!
