I'm dealing with fixing my daughter's computer. It keeps happening sometimes. No screen from the graphics card, no power to the keyboard or mouse via USB, RGB lights on fans aren't working, but all fans spin when turned on. I've swapped out the power supply and taken out the CMOS battery. The system runs the Asus Prime B550 Plus with a Ryzen 5700 CPU, Crucial 64GB RAM, 3200MHz CPU, Nvidia 3070 GPU.
Even without identifying the CPU, the system would likely trigger an error. I assume it has functioned before, so I’m checking the availability of spare parts. Are you using a different AM4 motherboard, or probably another graphics card to test?
The system worked well until two days ago. The same problem occurred before, but it seems to be possible to restore everything by restarting the power button and power supply switch. This time it didn’t work. Could a bad GPU affect the USB outputs? That’s what’s puzzling me. I have a 1060 and could try that instead.
The issue seems to be with the motherboard itself. Fans are spinning but RGB lights remain off—check if they connect to the PSU or a fan hub connected to the PSU, or directly to the motherboard headers. Also verify if CPU and GPU fans are turning on. If fans connect through the PSU and still don’t spin, the problem likely lies with the motherboard.
Start with the fundamentals: Did you disconnect the device and remove the CMOS battery for a while? Is the power supply activated?
The fans link straight to the power source. A hub is likely on the rear for RGB lighting. The case fans, CPU cooler, and GPU fans activate once you press the power button to start the PC.

This seems like a dead motherboard or at least one with malfunctioning parts. If you have another computer where you can check individual components like RAM, CPU, or GPU, I’d suggest trying that. It’s possible a short circuit or hardware issue is present, but it’s more likely the board itself is damaged. You could also try running it outside the case to see if that resolves any issues.
