i found a very old (7-8 years) computer. I have checked the PSU with a multimeter it's working great although very old. my mobo fan spins but there is no display/keyboard/mouse but i tried connecting phone and it charges. the problem is i can't replace the cpu as i can't find it any where but with the help of multimeter i tried some tests: -ram slots are not getting any voltage(it should get 1.5v) -Northbridge capacitors(just beside the chip very small ones) are not getting any voltages from any section. -the VRM chip is getting the desired voltage. -all capacitors/components looks good. specs- msi-7592 ver 5.2 g41m-p26 kingston ddr3 ram *1 iBall iBALLZPS-281 230 Watts PSU Intel Pentium Processor E2180
The board seems capable of supporting up to a core 2 quad, meaning you could buy an affordable dual-core processor for very low cost in the UK, or a similar model around $5. However, I'm unsure if it requires updates to work with those CPUs. Alternatively, you might consider a Pentium model instead. You don't have to match the exact CPU exactly.
