After shutting down my PC it's not booting. No video output, keyboard and mouse doesn't have led lights. Motherboard (Asus Crosshair VI Hero) give led Q-Code that is not documented and I don't even know what is the second symbol. 49? 4b? Tried to disable all SATA drive and keep only bootable NVME drive, removed all RAM and put again just one stick. Still the same issue Any idea what can be the cause and what is the good idea to try?
Documentation lists Q-Codes beginning with four digits, but they differ from what you expect.
This error appears frequently, and it seems many users had to return their product for repairs. Some reported that the manufacturer provided a specific meaning—like "OEM Post Memory Initiation"—but the actual fix required replacing the component.
I've encountered a comparable problem with an ASUS B-550-E board paired with a Ryzen 7 5800X. I've been adjusting the GPU position by using a screwdriver, but it slipped and left a noticeable scratch on one of the chips (a photo was taken). The same error code appears consistently. Additionally, the VRAM lights up orange, followed by the CPU turning RED and remaining that way. Since it functioned fine before this incident and now not even with identical settings, it seems the motherboard may have been damaged. Could this be the case? Anyone has experience on replacing that particular chip?
