I recall when it launched there were many problems, especially with the AI. Does anyone familiar with the game confirm if it’s been fixed? I really enjoyed the first Rome and would be excited to try it now.

He mentioned that the game became much less complex by cutting down many cities and units.

I usually play it daily (about 126 hours in total). With the emperor edition release it really stands out. I only got it recently (a few months back), so I can't directly compare it to the original version. It runs smoothly on my PC and stays stable, though there are occasional stutters during intense fights, which is a bit bothersome but not unusual. The updates have made a big difference and the game is still enjoyable with more patches planned. I’d definitely suggest it now, but I’m a bit worried about the many paid downloads for relatively little content—most of it should be free. For example, the gore pack seems overpriced. Maybe wait for a Steam sale or a full edition since most of the extra stuff feels important and can quickly add up to a lot.
