Hey! Your new setup looks solid. You’ve got an i5 6600K running smoothly at around 52°C, a GTX 1070 Windforce with plenty of VRAM, and 8GB RAM in G.Skill RGB. For Fortnite, you’re seeing great performance even with background apps open—some streamers use NVIDIA Shadowplay and show CPU/GPU stats at high frames per second. You mentioned using a fresh Windows install, overclocking the old i7, and updating BIOS. It’s impressive how you managed to get everything running without issues despite the challenges. Keep up the good work!

Clarify the problem. If you're uncomfortable with full CPU usage, adjust the frame cap instead.

then the cpu is lagging is what the problem is. with no way of changing the cpu as you mention and only the game using the cpu then thats what the game performance is going to be.

They possibly intended to note that the performance is likely lower than what they're observing on YouTube, but they didn't include the detail.

frames are falling below 80 and it's extremely tough to use with stuttering

the frames are significantly reduced, users with this cpu and an rx 580 under shadows were achieving higher frame rates than me (my temperatures are also low)

They’re all using identical hardware specs, the same drivers, Windows version, and updates. They’re also playing on the same game server and tested on the same day you did.

Maybe it worked, but I’m sure the Epic Games Launcher isn’t great. Try closing it with Task Manager when it starts, or check if there’s a setting like Battle.net that shuts it down automatically.

they're opting for budget models, like an RX 580 paired with a standard 6600 without the K version

I'm also connecting with a Z270 XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM board, a high-performance enthusiast board.
