Hello everyone, I'm looking to perform a factory reset on my Windows 7 system. I have some concerns about compatibility since my motherboard is an Asus Z87-K and I'm using a 4790k processor. I'm worried that updating it might erase this update, which would mean I'd have to replace the processor. Can anyone assist with this situation?

The motherboard remains unchanged regardless of actions in Windows 7. The firmware running on the board is stored directly on it, which is the BIOS.

The BIOS remains on your hard drive without being saved.

The BIOS is connected to the motherboard, not the hard drive or software installation.

The BIOS is on the motherboard, not in your storage devices like HDD or SSD. This means tweaking Windows won't affect the BIOS settings.
