Hello, I recently assembled a new PC following the failure of my previous one. The specifications are: Intel i5-12400 M-series Mortar B660M with Wi-Fi and DDR4 RAM, Corsair Vengeance 2x16GB at 3600MHz, GTX 750ti (from an older build), Coolermaster MWE 650W Gold, running Windows 11. When I connect HDMI to the motherboard and use the integrated GPU, I can see the monitor and enter BIOS. However, with a dedicated GPU, the mouse and keyboard lights turn on but I don’t get a display, and when I do, I can’t access the BIOS menu. I recently purchased all components and want to check if the motherboard or GPU is faulty. The debugging tool isn’t very useful since the lights only stay on during boot checks, then they disappear afterward. Please help me resolve this issue.
I’d start by suspecting an issue with the GPU chain on the older card. It could be the card itself, the GPU driver, or how Windows handles the GPU driver. You might simplify things by testing it on a 10 installation. I’m not sure how to enter safe mode on version 11—it seems even worse than version 10, which already caused problems—but safe mode would lock all drivers and use Microsoft’s standardized basic ones. If that helps, even slightly, it probably points to a driver or Windows issue.
