The machine operated smoothly in the morning before I went to school. I powered it off as usual. Upon returning home and restarting, the screen went dark and displayed "No boot device detected." I attempted to troubleshoot by inserting a USB drive with Windows, but it showed only a black dash instead of a boot message. I considered sharing images if helpful. I tried using another SSD, but the issue persisted. I consulted various sources, but received no useful advice—suggestions included pressing F12 or adjusting BIOS settings, neither worked. Any guidance would be invaluable.

In the bios, the ssd isn't listed as a drive. Verify power connections and the sata cable on both the drive and the motherboard. Consider using a different sata cable if needed.

It appears in the bios as an SSD storage device. I considered switching to another SATA cable, but I’m unsure why this would affect both devices if they use different SATA cables and ports.

You might need to share your hardware details like motherboard and SSD types. This helps since the issue could be more complex.

It should be identified as a Windows boot loader in UEFI mode. It’s likely your BIOS is configured to start from an old drive. Switch to booting only from UEFI and disable secure boot. And no, the detailed spec doesn’t help—just provide the necessary info and it’ll be useful. Smile Don’t worry, just try adjusting the BIOS settings.

Verify if BIOS settings remain unchanged post-reset or restart. If they change, swap the battery.

There might be an MBR problem stopping you from starting your operating system.
