I shared it again since the issue resurfaced, even though it started working soon after setup. Hello everyone, I have a fresh build: CPU i5 13600KF, ASUS Prime B760M-K board (link provided). Thermalright Phantom Spirit RAM Kingston FURY Beast KF560C36BBEK2-32, Sapphire Radeon 7900XT, SSD Crucial P3 2TB, and a Be quiet! PURE BASE 500 PCU Thermaltake TOUGHPOWER GF A3 Gold 850W. The problem is: it won’t start. My monitor isn’t showing anything. I’m testing without the SSD since it hasn’t arrived yet. My goal is to boot into BIOS first and install the SSD later this weekend. So far I’ve noticed: 1. All fans spin, everything seems powered on 2. Monitor works fine 3. Connected monitor to GPU, not mainboard 4. Changing RAM stick position or amount still causes the issue → likely RAM problem 5. Removing or adjusting battery in mainboard to reset BIOS 6. Double and triple-checked RAM compatibility with board; no updates needed 7. System booted briefly about 3 times in 6–7 hours, managed to enter BIOS 8. CPU cooler appears loose but I can’t confirm it’s the cause 9. Keyboard and mouse are dead. This suggests a RAM fault? The RAM is new and arrived recently… I’m unsure what to do next. Please help! Thank you all.

Sure thing. Quick summary. It took a while, but it functioned twice correctly and once not at all. I explored all options before figuring it out.

And yes, it's usually just a design choice, but I went ahead and added some fans. The BIOS indicated a normal temperature. Right away I powered it off, let it cool, and installed the cooler. I had to take out the graphics card for space, but it didn't turn on again. I tried re-seating it, but it still wouldn't work.

The least expensive or lowest quality component is usually the motherboard. Most other parts are made with tighter tolerances, so swapping it for another brand might fix the issue. Don’t run the machine without the heat sink attached again—that was a big mistake back around 27 years ago.

Thanks for your feedback. I was surprised to learn it could be an issue, but I checked it myself. Since you've already tested it a few times, here are some steps you can try without purchasing a new motherboard:

It had the same issue before it worked without the heat sink. I’m still unsure what caused it. I’ve tried running it multiple times in various setups over a long period, but I can’t pinpoint the problem.

If content appears to come out without any clear reason, the system is likely faulty. Functional elements will continue posting until a change in behavior occurs.
