It should work fine. I'm using Photoshop on a 2014 MacBook Air with a dual-core i7 processor. Exporting files might take more time, but it shouldn't cause any issues.

Will run Photoshop and Premiere Pro smoothly too—works well with the latest Apple Photos, which is perfect for editing and cataloging (a blend of iPhoto and Aperture). Photo editing on macOS is actually great.
