No Power
No Power
I just replaced the power supply and it’s not working at all—no lights, no fans, nothing. I’ve tried a few things: the wall power is fine (another PC connected worked), the power cable is okay (used it elsewhere), but when I disconnected the internal extension it stayed functional. I even shorted the power pins with a screwdriver and it stopped completely. Now I’m stuck—no idea what to check next. I’m worried this could mean my motherboard is bad, and I don’t have any clear way to test it. But this machine was working before, so something changed. Here are the specs: i9-9900k, RTX 3070, ROG Strix Z390-I Gaming, G-Skill 2x16 2666, EVGA Supernova 650 GM SFX, Lian Li A4 H20, Samsung 970 EVO Plus with 500GB and 1TB.
Your ATX power cable is plugged in and the PSU is activated at the switch.
Have you attempted removing the system from its housing and attempting to restart it? I experienced an unusual issue in my previous setup where the system stopped working unexpectedly inside the case, yet functioned properly when placed outside.
Check if the motherboard is correctly placed on the standoffs inside the case. Ensure it doesn’t come into contact with the case, as this could lead to damage.
