Hi Everyone,
Problem: No posts yet. Motherboard is glowing, GPU lights on with fans spinning initially then stopping. Intake fans are connected straight to the PSU. Exhaust fan is active and drawing power from the motherboard. CPU fan is also running. System specs: MOBO Asus Prime B450 Plus, CPU AMD Ryzen 2600X, stock cooler, RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16GB (2x8GB), drive 970EVOPlus 1TB NVMe, GPU MSI GTX 1070Ti, PSU Corsair RM650x.

Fans: 3x120mm intakes, 1x120mm exhaust. CASE CoolerMaster TD500.

Progress: I took the system out of its case and reassembled it on the motherboard. All cables were reattached—GPU, motherboard, PSU end. HDMI and power cables tested. Monitor worked with a laptop. Tried moving GPU to lower PCIe slot, removed Wi-Fi card, added one RAM stick in the fourth slot.

Questions: Any further steps if I can’t find spare parts for deeper testing?

Have you explored the no-post troubleshooting manual? Also known as unplugging all components, using a stable mouse, and checking the Wi-Fi card. Would it work to start with just a single RAM stick, GPU, and CPU?

It's challenging to identify the issue without familiar components available. Do you have other reliable parts in stock?

I’m trying to fix it myself from the case, but I think it’s better to take it to a repair shop. If I had the right parts, I’d handle it myself instead of spending money.

Consider using one stick at a time, power it up slowly, and wait about 3-4 minutes to check for a display. Clearing the CMOS during the first boot can reset the memory, which may result in the screen appearing black temporarily.

I searched through my cables bin and found the speaker for the motherboard. I’m receiving a single short beep, indicating a “DRAM refresh failure” in the AMI codes list. I’ve reinserted one stick into slot A2 and left it running for 5 minutes after resetting the CMOS again. Still nothing. I’ll attempt it with the other RAM stick. Should I consider using any different slots?

Consider a random slot, such as the nearest one. If it doesn’t help, try reseating the CPU.

It’s started up. I’m not sure how it got fixed. I’ve tried reinstalling everything repeatedly, focusing on the single broken part, but now it works properly once all components are connected. I’m cautious about putting it back in the case at this time.

It might have occurred due to oxidation in the pins or slots, which could affect connections over time. After multiple plugs, the connections usually stabilize. To verify, run a Memtest86 or Windows Memory Diagnostic to ensure memory health.
