I updated Windows 11 on a fresh drive recently, and unlike my previous setup, there’s only one partition available. It seems this is normal for Windows 11—it handles partitions differently than older versions. It shouldn’t be a cause for concern.

The installer detected the EFI/recovery partitions on your old drive and reused them. It's one of my biggest annoyances with Windows because it means you NEED both drives to boot. Users end up in this state all the time without realizing it. Recommend removing all drives except for desired boot drive and reinstall Windows.

When using several connected drives, Windows defaults to placing the EFI boot partition on the first drive rather than your selected one. To ensure Windows uses the desired drive, connect only that specific drive to the system.
