I constructed my PC around five years ago. Over the last two to three years, I've encountered a problem where my monitor shuts down because it receives no output during random actions—like clicking a button, typing in a textbox, or entering a web address. The screen freezes and then powers off. Even though the PC is running, any keyboard or mouse input fails to restore the display. Restarting the system is the only solution. This issue occurs sporadically a few times each week and bothers me a lot. I'm curious if others have experienced similar behavior and how they resolved it. This problem has persisted through multiple OS updates. My PC specifications are: Windows 10, Ryzen 5 1600x, 32GB RAM, Asus RX580, Corsair AX760.

What are the power settings for sleep? The computer needs to detect when you're using it and prevent the monitor from going to sleep. I've found that setting never sleep works best for systems experiencing this problem. The monitor enters sleep mode, but a proper reboot is necessary to proceed correctly.

The screen turns off after 15 minutes and the PC never powers down, even when I'm using it.

Changed monitor setting to always stay awake. If it works, skip to the next update.
