URGENT ASSIST REQUESTED!
I managed to reach overclocking speeds up to 4.5ghz on my i5 6500 with a core voltage of 1.328V, bus speed at 141.0mhz, and ram around 2600mhz. I attempted to push further aiming for 4.6ghz or 4.7ghz, but that didn’t succeed. My PC stopped posting into the BIOS, and I’ve tried all possible fixes including manually resetting the BIOS by unplugging the power cord and leaving the motherboard battery out for an hour. I also disconnected everything and started it up from basic settings, but nothing worked. My motherboard is a Z170 Krait Gaming 3x, and I’m worried I might have damaged my CPU since the CPU LED stays on. The fans spin and the PC starts, but it just goes black when trying to use the HDMI output. The HDMI port on my EVGA GTX 1070 also doesn’t work. The CPU never overheated thanks to the Corsair H100i V2 cooling solution, and I haven’t seen it exceed 53°C. The CPU status light is always lit, even when trying to boot without RAM, and there are no beep sounds. Please help me, as I can’t afford replacing the CPU or motherboard. Sorry for my poor English.
The guide I was using was http://overclocking.guide/updated-msi-z1...-new-bios/.
Sorry, you might damage your baby, because the CPU is running too high (141 MHz). Take it out to check for any burn marks. Hi and thanks for your reply. I tried testing my CPU on a friend's PC and it worked fine—no issues detected. That suggests the motherboard could be faulty. Do you know if there are any solutions to fix this?
