I recently assembled a new PC and haven’t been able to get the display working on both monitors. I’ve tried various setups—connecting the GPU to the monitors, the PC to the monitors, and using HDMI from the GPU and PC ports—but nothing worked. I double-checked that my monitors were set correctly, fans are running, LEDs are on, RAM is installed, and even swapped in new RAM didn’t help. Everything seems fine with both monitors, which I’ve used daily for gaming. My build includes a used CPU and GPU, so I’m not sure if the problem lies there. I suspect it might be related to the seller or a recent upgrade. There’s a red CPU light and an orange DRAM light on my motherboard. I’m considering taking it to a trusted PC shop for further diagnosis. This is my first build, and I’m really unsure what’s going on.
Manual review quick. Both CPU and RAM seem problematic. Pay close attention to the power connectors for the CPU. I handled it myself, no criticisms. Left the power supply disconnected—probably just my age playing a role. Blame yourself if you don’t have it right. Verify the CPU is properly seated, check for bent pins. Inspect cooler mounting pressure; they often come with mismatched spacer sizes and incorrect pressure, causing issues. The difference might be in millimeters—hopefully there’s a color code. Memory A2 and B2 look correct from the image, but I can’t confirm. If the CPU isn’t seated properly, it won’t matter until then. Try removing the GPU and see if you can run with onboard graphics instead. This should help you identify what needs fixing. Good luck!
