Hello, today I attempted my first overclock after about a month of preparation. Using the BIOS, I adjusted the CPU frequency to 3.7ghz and the voltage to 1.2V. My machine is a Ryzen 7 1700 and according to various forums, both the clock and voltage should be correct. However, when trying to save and exit BIOS, my monitor went black. Forcing a shutdown and restarting didn’t help, so I replaced the CMOS battery which resolved the issue.
What might cause the 'no signal' black screen after overclocking? Could it be related to the power supply or the monitor?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!
It indicates the configurations aren't suitable for your computer...you shouldn't copy someone else's overclock settings since each motherboard, CPU, and build differs even with the same part numbers. Overclocking requires adjusting settings until it functions properly—this includes dealing with blue screens and black screens of nothing. If you're not ready for this, it's best to stick with the default settings, as poor overclocks can damage computers. A basic guide If you choose to keep trying, we can assist, but we can't provide exact numbers that will work on your specific system because everyone's setup is unique.
