I bought it yesterday night and downloaded the game today. It wrapped up a few minutes ago, but just as it was closing, two pop-up messages appeared: one asking if I should fix or remove Microsoft C++ 2008 (possibly more than that in the title) and another prompting for installation. I wasn’t sure, but it looked like the game was waiting until the install finished before showing the repair option. I dismissed the repair prompt and let the installation proceed. Have others faced this issue? Is C++ 2008 really required for Original Sin or other titles?

It's typical for games to request specific information occasionally.

It seems curious that I'm being asked to both install and remove this software at once. That’s a strange prompt. An interesting related problem occurred when trying to play the game—it displayed an error about a folder not being created in my user documents. This issue likely disrupted the game, making it impossible to start or launch without issues. It turned out the ransomware protection in Bitdefender Total Security 2017 mistakenly blocked Divinity from modifying the protected folder. After adding Divinity to the whitelist, the game functioned properly again. Edited November 8, 2016 by Bleedingyamato – Fixed spelling: promoted changed to prompted.
