Are you still using this in a virtual machine? Please open the terminal and run: totem try to play the dvd/blueray as you did in that Videos window, then close the player and share the output. I don’t see libblueray listed among the current mirrors, but here are 2 and Blu-ray and Disc Java support libraries: sudo apt install libbluray{2,-bdj}. If it’s on a VM you intend to reinstall, you might want to try a more aggressive approach. sudo apt install libbluray{2,-{bdj,bin,dev,doc}} libaacs0
At this stage it seems unlikely this will work on VMware. The DRM isn’t functioning with the virtual machine, and there doesn’t appear to be a missing dependency issue. This is what @Normand_Nadon mentioned—Blu-ray worked fine out of the box in the Videos app during his fresh PopOS installation. To verify, create a live USB of PopOS using a tool like rufus, install it, and select “Try Demo” on the install screen before launching the Videos app to see if your Blu-rays play natively.
I did just install pop os on my second ssd but now I have a problem. I can't figure out how to boot into it. When I press f12 when booting up the only drives that show up to boot from (in the boot menu) are my primary ssd and my hdd. When installing I selecting format drive and install and I selected my second ssd. Any idea what is up. (I was going to stop using a vm like you recommended.)
