I didn’t find it very enjoyable. I’ve never been keen on those Battlefield titles.

I received Battlefield 3 for Christmas back when I was using a laptop that couldn't handle it (Radeon 5470). It's strange I spent an hour testing my new graphics card after building Nala, only to stop playing the series afterward. A great JRPG would keep me playing for hours. Shooters no longer interest me.

I occasionally enjoy playing BF1, though the DLCs often let me down. The base game seems to lack substance, while the DLCs boost it up a lot—though at a price. Still, the visuals are impressive and the gameplay remains solid.

Bf1's experience feels too basic and lacks depth compared to the series. The interface doesn't match the game's vibe, making it feel cold and fragmented. Although the visuals are impressive, the maps are average and don't fully utilize their strengths, like Argone Forest or Monte Grappa. Consequently, I prefer playing Battlefield 2 over Bf1.

So how exactly are they handling the WWI backdrop? It feels like they’re leaning too heavily on visuals and extra content that doesn’t really fit the era. In a WWII context, the gameplay would be more authentic and balanced. The weapon systems, grenade use, and combat mechanics all seem off in comparison to what you’d expect from a World War II simulation. Updates and new content are also slowing things down rather than improving it. While I still like Battlefield overall, BF1’s design choices—especially around weapon balance and pacing—are confusing. Plus, the DLC maps seem to have already been released, which isn’t unusual with DICE’s map packs, but it feels rushed.
