Where should I start? My MOBO stopped working last week. It was an MSI B450M with a budget Ryzen 3 2200G (about 3 years ago or so). The power section of the motherboard failed, and even shorting the power pins didn’t help. CPU tests on a friend’s A320 worked fine. I decided it was time for an upgrade. I ended up getting an MSI MAG B550 and an R5 3600. I received the package today and started exploring. I checked out the 2200G and was surprised—mostly it didn’t support Zen or Zen+. The box mentioned incompatibility with newer APUs (3200G, 3400G). Yet both outputs functioned, including my Vega and GTX 1060. Now I’m wondering if AMD is intentionally making certain parts incompatible. Will it run smoothly? I bought the CPU mainly because the old motherboard wouldn’t work with it. Also, I’m just curious since I’m tight on cash—I didn’t want to commit to a 3600 yet, maybe wait and upgrade to a Ryzen 7...
