I tried it but didn’t enjoy it. I strongly dislike the missions and the map makes it hard to know where to go, with people constantly calling for new tasks. It also feels like a straightforward story that begins with you trying to drive, even though multiple dialogues cover the same event. It’s just another GTA set in a futuristic setting. The hacking and stealth sections come across as awkward and frustrating.
I had ordered Flight Simulator X before it was even released, expecting it to be impossible on my system. No one—seriously anyone—could run it at full capacity even with the best hardware until after 2010. The price tag was over $110. If a game is released cheaply and gets a refund, developers often lose interest. Refunds for such titles usually mean people aren’t supporting them anymore, which hurts everyone who still plays. I was ready to let it gather dust in my collection for months or years. Apart from a few minor annoyances, I’m fine with that.
I wouldn't say that I wasted the money. I got my key cheaper for 45€ and the game runs... Decently on my poor little 1660 Ti. At 1440p at custom settings (mix of low and medium settings) the game runs relatively well at around 40fps. For me this is a sweet spot because the game still looks nice and it's playable because the framerate is pretty consistent. Not ideal but it works. Depending on the playstyle this framerate is pretty much enough as well. Definitely better than the console experience though, that's for bloody sure... But I do hope that they improve the performance with future updates! I am fine with the framerate I got and glad that the game runs at all but if this were Doom Eternal I would be very disappointed to see this framerate... Doom runs at slightly over 100 fps on ultra settings with my setup.
I'm satisfied with the result. Performance at 1080p on the 2060S is decent, though there are some drops in major open zones like the City Center. The "everything lite" style fits the experience well for me, even if improvements are needed. There are areas that require fixing, but it's enough to enjoy the game.
